I think it depends on the instance. It feels like Limmy.ml is overloaded and also noticed lag while scrolling. I tried Jerboa before and never had issues so I'm guessing it server related.
Jerboa
Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.
Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

Yep, I had the same problem - see my previous post on lagginess in this /c. Force closing and clearing app cache resolved it for me.
Everyone keeps confusing this with a server load issue, which it isn't (or at least doesn't seem to be directly).
Same. It's not laggy or loading or anything, it's just a slower scroll speed but it's noticable. Can be compared pretty well if you open jerboa and a second app split screen and then scroll in both. Jerboa has some sort of 'breakes' built in.
Scrolling performance is a know issue, unfortunately.
