Yes!!! An Emo Community! Charls from Illinois here. The scene is alive and thriving here. All sorts of legendary homegrown bands and great venues aplenty to see the classics and the new stuff. I don't play in a band, but I "played" bass in the wayback. I guess the Emo pipeline for me started with "Dear You" by Jawbreaker, then I got obsessed with The Lawrence Arms and Braid. Currently enamored with Guitar Fight, Charmer, Saturdays At Your Place, and Yes Yes A Thousand Times Yes to name a few. I'm embarrassingly only just now getting into The Brave Little Abacus. Better late than never I guess?

Excited to see this here, even it is small. Everything starts somewhere. I'll listen to pretty much anything, My Chemical Romance to American Football, you name it.
I'm from Western Canada. I discovered emo when I was suicidally depressed in highschool (like most emo fans I guess, lol) and while I'm doing a lot better now, I never got tired of the music.
I don't play in a band but I do scream at my steering wheel after the occasional shitty day at work.
