The worst part is that I feel like others aren't necessarily good at the game either. It does feel like they're often simply less aware of the complexity.

How to talk about autism:
It's anxiety inducing. I find it like this when I think too much about the conversation, and have to force myself to stop analyzing every possible scenario.
That works until I say something stupid and decide I should be overanalyzing.
It's a weird catch 22
That works until I say something stupid
There's a way to overcome this. IMO it comes from constant trauma because somehow we have (mis-)understood the others as judging us as stupid. Hence, we continue to be wrongly judgemental about ourselves. ... Until we even fear our own judgement.
I was bullied as a teenager as ostensibly being "slow". So i had learned that i was slow at comprehending. -- Until someone told me that apparently my comprehension is more complex than that of others, so i was constantly processing more information and associations.
Incredibly, although a 4D chess board could be more accurate
Its gets more complex when more players are added
Often, although only with people I'm not comfortable with. If it's one of my partners or family or close friends, then no, as we've all learned how to communicate effectively.
For me it can get more like
Yeah, and if I make a bad chess move, people get angry at me
yep, I do.
