The anime is a bit weak IMO, but the intro rocks. And it fits well the macabre yet funny mood of the anime.

Agreed on it being the best op of the season. Here's the full song for anyone interested. I enjoy the show well enough. It's certainly my kind of ecchi trash. If you really appreciate thighs it's worth checking out. I have heard that the manga gets better.

When you say weak, what do you mean? Never seen it but might add it to my watch list.

It's my subjective impression, but the series feel a bit too repetitive and a bit too reliant on gag for a fantasy one. Give it a try though, it might feel different for you.

EDIT: although note, it isn't so bad as the Elfen Lied anime, where the only thing worth was the intro. (A shame, because the manga was decent.)

I found it so hard to get through the Elfen Lied anime. It was the glacial pace for me more than anything else.

The anime also take off a lot of the context from the manga, and this completely destroyed its message/"theme" about "what means 'to be a monster' and 'to be a human', when both behave the same?". That made the violence and gore feel gratuitous.

I still haven't read the manga, If I am honest with myself I think its because the anime turned me off some much. I should probably add it to my read list.

I can relate to that. The anime doesn't make stuff up, but it does remove things from context, so they simply look like "gore for the sake of gore".

If you're interested Brynhildr in the Darkness (Gokukoku no Brynhildr) is from the same author, and I think that it's a bit more approachable in this aspect. There's still some "weird" stuff, though, so be warned.

Man some earworm that is. Stuck in my head now. Guess I gotta check it out now

It is! I picked it up just for this reason.

I've probably listened to this song like 70 times since the season started, definitely very catchy and energetic, prefect for when I'm cleaning up my apartment lmfao

Yup, absolutely the killer OP of the season. The bit where the skull whooped along with the song will forever live on in my head. I love when OPs put in the extra work to sync up beat-by-beat with the track like that.
