For me, I have a few start points: (Ordered in frequency)

  • Lately it has been Season 3 Ep3, "War is the H Word", "Cryonic Women", "Parasites Lost" and I'll sometimes making it to "Amazon Women In The Mood".

  • Season one, ep2, "The season has landed"

  • Season 4, ep 6 "Where the Buggalo Roam"

  • Season 2, ep 3, "When aliens attack".

All of those have just somehow made my falling asleep just easy and I'm never tired of these episodes! Interested in hearing others!

I have Fututama on Plex, and Plex has a shuffle option to watch shows. I love just hitting shuffle and seeing what episode I can close my eyes and listen to

That does sound cool... I'm going to investigate doing that over the week. Also thanks for stopping by!

It's the best. It's what keeps me maintaining a personal media server. There's also Jellyfin for a FOSS option.

I just put them on random and if I don't like it fast forward. I do prefer to start with an episode from seasons 1-4. Doesn't take too long to fall asleep after that.

Nice! 1-4 are my favorite too. I need to see if my media server would allow me to shuffle like that on my tv. I've honestly never thought about it.

I've taken Jurassic Bark out entirely because... The feels. Lol.

The only one that really bothers me is Game of Tones with the loud repetitive alien sounds.

What media server do you use? I use Plex and use it with either the Plex app or VLC and easily create playlists and shuffle. Just create a separate sleeping playlist vs watching all of the series. :)

I use universal media server (UMS) since my tvs interact with it natively and I liked it because it was open source. Having the shuffle ability sure sounds nice. UMS, has put out some big new releases lately I need to see if that feature has been added or Ive never noticed it. Ive just been scooting a long with it. It's basic but works reliably. I use dms explorer on my phone to play (I think vlc works also).

I've heard of Plex for years but have never given it a try.

I like plex because it can be used across an array of platforms. Moreover, you can access and share your movies/shows online with friends and family as long as your server is online. Lots of other cool features.

Edit: someone just started a community for one on lemmy

Thank you!!! I'm gonna check it out (finally)...

I just play the episodes in order every night and continue the next night.

I start at the same place or the same episodes... I'm not sure why... Just like the familiarity. It's been Parasites lost for a week or two now.
