Wow... reminds me of lord of the flies, although a much happier ending for the children.

This incredible story shows how well nature can provide to you, if you know what you are doing...and shows how far away from nature we actually have strived, since most of the users here (myself included), would probbaly have died of diarrhea after having eaten the first plant.

You can learn however and it's fascinating how much edible stuff grows around you. My gf knows quite a bit about it and at every hike she chews on some seemingly random weed along the way.

A good amount of luck also helps…

Of course. But luck alone won't let 4 children, especially an infant, nor survice for 40 freaking days in the jungle. The luckiest man alive won't survive without knowledge and skill.

Lmaooo honestly same dude.

I can’t imagine how scary and stressful it must’ve been for those kids to not only lose their mom but also having to survive out there with no adults to rely on.

I was estimating that I'd make it about 5 minutes. Something would bite me and I'd be dead.

I don't think I'd be lucky enough to have such a quick death though. Even though I second the biting...I just imagine it to be a bit bigger animal, which keeps me as a food reservoir. 😉
