Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

It seems like comment text is always much bigger than the rest of the text in the app. If I change the text size from 16 to 12 in the settings, then most text gets very small, but the comment text is still around 14.

This feels backwards and makes it sort of hard to read, I'd much rather see all the other text at 16 and comments at about 14. Is there a way to set that up?

Afaik, the dev has said it's an unintended byproduct of supporting images in replies. It is a known issue with no fix atm.

There is a fix available actually! I'm using it right now and it's working great, I'm hoping it can be merged ASAP. https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/pull/432

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up.

Semi-related, do you know the fastest way to get the latest releases? I got the app from the play store, which I assume isn't getting incremental releases as fast. I've seen people talking about f-droid, is it accurate to say that's like an alternative package manager?

is it accurate to say that's like an alternative package manager?

Yes, that is correct. It only hosts open source apps and also supports adding extra repositories. The fastest way to get updates would be to use the IzzyOnDroid repository. I can recommend the Droid-ify app as it supports automatic updates for apps. It also comes with the IzzyOnDroid repository enabled by default

Thanks, I'm glad to hear it's a known issue at least.
