Looking for light keyboards that don't sacrifice on feel (kbin.social)

Right now I use a DURGOD Taurus which I love (Cherry brown switches), and I take it back and forth from work every day I work at the office.
Unfortunately though it's getting quite heavy for me to carry so often, and I'm a bit worried about its effect on my back.

The laptop bag I use has some pretty good support, so I'm not sure if a better bag would solve the problem.

Are there any travel keyboards that are super light but also have good mechanical switches? As a programmer I need the function keys, the arrows and the keys that are usually above them (Home, Insert etc). I couldn't care less about the numpad.

From my attempts, not really.

You'll have to sacrifice some. The more keys you remove, the less heavy it'll get. Going for a TKL, 75%, 65%, will be lighter and lighter.

Brown switches aren't the most "hardcore" feeling wise so you're in luck. Although a bit less good, I've felt that the feel from low profile browns aren't that much worse, so that's a way to increase portability. Oh course, you'll also lose in keycaps and switch choice by going low profile.

I've personally had a look at Numphy (example 75%, 500g) and keychron (same thing).

There are other brands and going to a 65% can probably shave off like 100g.

You mention a different backpack. If you haven't looked around for that, I'd make that a priority. To to an outdoors shop, get something proper.

I daily use a Deuter AC Lite 16. It has no special compartment for laptops, bit my 14 inch just fits in a tight elastic near the back. For a bigger laptop, I'd place a hoodie in the bottom.

It's a small hiking backpack, and it's curved back sits extremely well, I think. It's great for biking, too.

The one you sent seems a bit much for my use, but from what I see there are surely better backpacks out there than the one I use, it's worth it to make some research there. It probably makes more sense to go to physical stores and try them out with my laptop and keyboard so I see what they're really like.

We don't leave things here, it's an open office and we sit on different desks every time. It would very likely be stolen :P
