With the planned removal of API access and killing Apollo, and RIF I figured it would be time to check out the alternatives. It looks like lemmy.ca covers a lot of the Canada stuff, and BeeHaw is the "general" stuff.

Is this the next great big thing? How much load can lemmy.ca handle?

Also as a beehaw user... I'm guessing I can't create a new lemmy.ca community. I'd have to register specifically on lemmy.ca to have a new city community?

I don't know, but I'm hoping this takes off! I joined yesterday after reading the news about RIF.
