Zuckerberg misled everyone, burned tens of billions of dollars, convinced an industry of followers to submit to his quixotic obsession, and then killed it the second that another idea started to interest Wall Street.

tbh despite getting really interested and pissed off by the metaverse when it was announced, I have not thought about it in months.
I honestly forgot about it.
Wait, has Zuck officially dumped this?
No, but his latest speeches don't really mention the Metaverse and suddenly focus on AI. Meta has been investing in both recently, it's the orientation of the speeches that has suddenly changed.
Dang. I was hoping that the metaverse would be Zuckerberg's white whale that he just poured resources into forever, sinking Facebook in the process.
