I can't wait. All this protest coverage will lead to bigger protests in coming weeks/months.

Notably, the administration has apprehended foreign students at some of the nation’s most prestigious universities and revoked student visas in an unprecedented fashion. The administration also accidentally deported a Maryland man, who has lived in the U.S. since 2011 and holds a green card, to a high-security jail in El Salvador.
That's not a statement of fact. It's a convenient way to toe the party line. The correct wording was: "A Maryland man was also deported in what the government claims was an accident ..."
Here's the protest at the Texas Capitol Building in Austin
there will likely be in excess of a million people out on the streets today; there are at least 1,200 recorded Hands Off! protests today in addition to about 70 other scheduled protests against people like Elon Musk or rallying for Palestine. easily the largest mobilization so far either way--there are substantial protests in almost every city larger than about 100,000 people, and many significant ones in cities smaller than that
I just checked out BlueSky and scrolled through the pictures. It was the first time in a long time I've felt like I was "hope scrolling" instead of watching the world burn. Deleted most social media around 2016 and just removed/uninstalled Reddit yesterday... because it's also all just vitriol and hate to get their IPO up. Even if you mute EVERYTHING hateful. Glad to be here today.
Already feeling normal again on a Saturday so that's nice. I didn't personally go today cuz I have just been exhausted... went to the first one around here and was scared there would be nobody but there was easily 200+.
I just went to a local one that I was expected to be small and was surprised how big it was. Planning to go to a bigger one that starts in few hours.
Also saw few trump supporters trying to counter protest. No one was being confrontational with them, but they left on their own as people with anti trump signs got around them and essentially downed them in the crowd.
I think the thing that has been most encouraging to me about these protests is seeing pictures folks in small towns and deep red states are posting of protests there.
Have some more encouragement!
Taken in Dover, NH, this was at a 4-way intersection and all four corners looked like this
I've seen hundreds of those photos on Bluesky today. Very encouraging. BTW, my neighbor (across the street) took his Trump flag down this week.
Yeah, his supporters are finding out.
It is way more then 1000s. Just one state is probably in the 10s of thousands and this is national.
Edit: MN state capital alone was 25000. See: https://bsky.app/profile/erinmayequade.bsky.social/post/3lm3irqc7jc2v .
How long until we get a total number of attendees?
