I'm currently reading The Last Argument of Kings which is the third book in the First Law series. I think I might read The hobbit next. It's been on the tbr for a long time.

Hobbit is a classic but it's about as far from a Joe Abercrombie book as you can get. How're you finding Last Argument of Kings?

It's pretty good. It's been a while since I've read a complete series of novels especially when it's fantasy. I used to hate fantasy. btw what do you think about earthsea series by ursula k le guin

I read the first one many years ago but still look back on it fondly, I read the second earlier this year and thought it was excellent. I'm planning to read the third sometime soon. Definitely worth checking out if you're wanting a classic example of the genre, but again very different to an Abercrombie book.

If you're wanting more things like First Law you'll want to look into the grimdark side of the genre, or just keep going with Joe since he has 2 more series in the same world that follow up the first trilogy.

I've read 2 books by le guin and liked both of them. So, I think I might like this one.

I'm not sure this is entirely accurate (I've just added a couple which I know were missing), but my virtual pile of books is this: https://wyrms.de/user/chris/books/toreadpile-466

Currently reading Dragons of Eternity

I've had Strange & Norrell in my tbr for eons, I'm a little daunted by how chunky it is. Loved Piranesi but that was dainty in comparison.

Yeah, same! I saw a great TV adaptation which apparently diverges a bit from the book, so wanted to check out the source material. It was somewhat heftier than I envisaged.

Piranesi was wonderful.

Mines a bit of a mess right now. There's about 350 books on there apparently, not including sequels, but here's the top 100 (order isn't strict; vibes based).

This inevitable ruin The audiobook is just fantastic and adds to an already amazing book series.

I just finished the first Carl a few weeks back and loved it so much! Wasn't expecting it to hook me like it did. Got the second ready to go.
