I am planning on starting a community based around Fate and I was wondering if it could gain attraction.

I would fill it up with content by myself if need be, but this seems like a good idea to ask around beforehand simultaneously bringing attention that I have plans for a fate community and learning if I should focus on introducing people to fate or just continuing as if people know about it already

Big fan of the anime, waiting for a good sale on the remaster VN and used to be a big fan of FGO (still am storywise, but not the actual game part). Not sure if a Fate community is necessary (I wouldn't be very interested) or if it's even a good idea. The federation stuff can make niche communities pretty hard to find, so it'd be hard to gain traction.

Ya, seems that way

I'll probably post guides and do random posts instead

Although, having a community wouldn't be too high maintenance, and I could cross post too

I've watched Fate Zero and Unlimited Blade Works

I've seen most of the older shows from the Studio Deen stuff up through the 13 episode Rail Zeppelin spin-off or thereabouts. Never got to most of the movies other than the old UBW adaptation. I'm aware of FGO, but my opinion of gacha can be summarized as "fuck that" so I've ignored it beyond what's occasionally popped up via fan art posts.

If there's something about the shows you want to talk about, I'd rather you just post threads here than start a new community.

If you watch Fate/Stay Night, just be careful as there are 5 series out and here are their differences:

  • Zero - takes place 10 years before FSN. Would actually suggest watching it after FSN but you can watch it before. It expands on the Grail War
  • Fate/Stay Night (The OG) - Came out in 2006, the original VN had 3 “paths” and all of them ended up animated, but you had to play through them in order. This one is the base, focuses on Saber and is probably your best intro to the Fate franchise
  • Unlimited Blade Works - this is the second path that focuses on Rin. There was a movie and an anime series. The movie is okay, but highly compressed. The anime has earned the nickname “Unlimited Budget Works” because of how awesome the fight scenes are animated. This one is by far my favorite
  • Heaven’s Feel - this was a trio of movies that in the final path and focuses on Sakura. This one was the darkest of all the paths imo. The first movie had a good set up, second was awesome, third was just an okay landing

Of course there are a multitude of spin offs, some related, some not. Basically I like to look at them all independently with just an understanding of what the “Fate” concept is and enjoy them from there.

I started with the Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn

Yes. But I am not a hardcore fan. Out of the franchise, Lord el Melloi case files are my fav, and i plan on being mostly up to date with fake/strange as it airs
