A man convicted and sentenced to nine months in jail for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol was arrested in Whistler, B.C., four years to the day after the riot.

Rather than reporting to jail in the U.S., Antony Vo headed north to seek asylum in Canada.

He told CBC News last week that he was hoping U.S. president-elect Donald Trump would pardon him.

Man commits and is found guilty of insurrection in his own country. Man then flees country, giving false reason for entering other country. Man then has an extended expensive vacation, telling the media that heโ€™s claimed asylum.

Those responsible for processing asylum seekers at the border find out and appoint him an interview date; instead of showing up, he proposes an alternative date. He is then arrested, and claims itโ€™s politically motivated.

I smell snowflake syndrome.

"He's already made too many promises in the public spotlight that it would look really bad if he didn't," Voย said. "And he's a man of his word."

We are so fucking doomed.

Is he one of the people that did physical damage to the building or is he one of the people that stayed away from the building and never touched the property but got arrested anyways?

He was in the building and had several charges.
