Beehaw's community for socialists, communists, anarchists, and non-authoritarian leftists (this means anti-capitalists) of all stripes. A place for all leftist and labor news and discussion, as long as you're nice about it.

Non-socialists are welcome to come to learn, though it's hard to get to in-depth discussions if the community is constantly fighting over the basics. We ask that non-socialists please be respectful and try not to turn this into a "left vs right" debate forum by asking leading questions or by trying to draw others into a fight.

They won't because they don't care

I’ll keep saying this. The DNC and majority (not all) of the Democrats in congress are basically a controlled opposition for the rich. Look at their wealth and backgrounds and understand that they are not fighting for the working man either. Bernie and AOC are some of the good ones that do care but they’re far outweighed.

They wouldn't lift a finger the past 4 years to actually put procedural guardrails in place to fight the rising tide of authoritarianism in the GOP, but they're going to in the next month-and-a-half? Please.

As with nearly everything else, it turns out that the "lame duck" concept is just an unofficial norm.
