Drag showed the Artemis Fowl movie trailer to drag's dragon right before it started reading Artemis Fowl. So far:

Artemis is clearly an evil white collar criminal
Artemis is the bad guy in the story
Artemis is NOT a surfer.

Didn't even bother watching the movie after seeing the teaser for it.

I don't understand why they change everything so much? Same thing with Percy Jackson. Especially after the huge success of Hary Potter, you'd think greedy studios would want that.

Because Artemis Fowl isn't anything like the popular children's media. The protagonist is the bad guy? He's a child who kidnapped a fairy to ransom her for gold? It's awesome, and Disney will never approve a movie with that plot, even though they wanted to use the IP.

Drag doesn't think anyone could learn to like the movie by reading the book. The movie is horrible.
