Yay thank you. I don't like posting stuff like this without attribution and my image searches just kept turning up imgur and reddit links

I'll be honest, I just went into the comments of one of those reddit links and scrolled down until I saw someone share the artist's name :P

Ah, I couldn't be arsed after a couple of links because I got tired copy-pasting the link and then changing reddit.com to https://redlib.kittywi.re/ – my whole IP range is banned from reddit for whatever reason so I can't browse it without redlib even if I was so inclined. Well at least without an account, which I don't have.

LibRedirect extension my friend

[–] hydroptic@sopuli.xyz 11 points 3 months ago

Should have figured there's an extension. I try to avoid reddit as much as I can so I haven't looked into redlib extensions – keeping it painful to use means I end up there much less from web searches

They think they can insulate themselves by grifting enough dough by being a professional "one of the good ones"

[–] hydroptic@sopuli.xyz 36 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah could well be, in addition to a case of "surely the leopards won't eat my face"

It’s a super risky strategy. If you win the outcome lottery then you’ll be accepted as one of the good ones.

But it’s a lot more likely that you’ll be arrested too after having made the lives of everybody like you worse.

Humans decisions being a statistical distribution will have some people who can’t properly make this risk calculation.

It’s the same energy as women siding with the misogynists.

Isn't it transphobic to lump drag queens and trans people together?

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 30 points 3 months ago

i would assume the artist is mocking the terfs and transphobic l's and g's who got in on the "save the children" nonsense

Yes and no. Obviously, trans and drag are two different things, but they are hated for the same reason: transgressing gender normativity and especially showing it's OK for AMAB persons to have and display characteristics traditionally assigned to femininity.

So yes, equating trans with drag is wrong for all reasons, but this doesn't make this cartoon transphobic, only realistic.
