You can still make gold with: animals, selling fish, foraging, selling valuable stones from the mines Generally in the first winter, I do all the stuff that I didn't have time for in the first few seasons After the first year, I have made enough gold that I have enough to last me through winter
Stardew Valley
All things Stardew Valley.
I have one chicken?
How do I make of profitable? I'm awful at fishing.
Most of my money comes in summer-fall
I had winter money. Just spent a lot on some stuff, have about 2000 rn I think.
Mayo makers turn those eggs into more money! I usually check on my chickens first thing in the morning, grab the eggs, stick them in the Mayo machines and then by the afternoon there’s Mayo to sell. It’ll more than triple your selling price.
Can an egg make more chicken?
I think I can afford a mayo machine
Yes, but you have to have the coop upgrade for the incubator
Made my 3 eggs into mayo, how much is the upgrade? Have about 4000 coins.
Would like to get the templar sword but willing to wait if it means a better money source
The upgrade is 10.000 gold Personally, I wouldn't buy a sword as you drop most of them from monsters and you get the best swords later in the game
Monsters drop swords? Never got a good monster item, besides some ores and the solar stuff wizard likes
I'd have to cross check that but I got them somehow because I never bought a sword
Turns out some monsters drop weapons,
I currently use insect head, found from chest.
A monster dropped a lead bat.
Also, the shadow things got hands, had to savescum to avoid losing items
First winter is the time to gather resources and focus of crafting, improving infrastructure, gaining friendship with locals, and plowing through the mines and monster slayer goals.
You can up your fishing through crab traps, btw, and lining your farm with them is moderately profitable as long as you can make or find enough bait. As you advance fishing you'll craft items that give you bait every day and can turn garbage into useful items.
Yea, that's pretty much what I'm doing.
Haven't used bait or traps tho.
Also, what swords are worth it? I wanna get to bottom of mine, and unsure if cutlass to templars sword is a good upgrade
Fishing, artisan goods or animal goods, maybe selling ores and minerals when desperate enough
I cannot fish, I'm awful at it.
What are artisan goods?
And yea, is ell mining stuff when desperate.
Mainly looking to fund a sword upgrade. My cutlass looks kinda bad compared to the templar sword
That and need a better pick.
Heard of the training rod, how do I unlock that? Willy only sells the bamboo rod and a random food item
Artisan goods are things like wines, juices, beer, cheese, mead etc. they are a more valuable than the normal farmed stuff but take some extra time. Next fall you can maybe prepare some to sell in winter.
And for fishing you could either try learn it or use a mod that skips the fishing minigame.
The Training rod should be available in Willys shop, according to the wiki
Yea, now I have the kitchen I might make some.
I'll get the training rod too
Thank you.
Also, is it worth upgrading from a lv3 sword. I'm at lv 70 of mines. Wondering if waiting for better stuff is smarter
Edit
Lv 110 of mines, got the obsidian blade thing from a chest, lv 9 sword
