During a recess at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial this week, several journalists approached Police Brig. Gen. Coresh Barnoor and introduced themselves. The officer asked them to keep their distance. "If anyone sees me with you, I'm done for," he said. "You already are," said one of them.

It is well documented that Netanyahu is motivated by a similar logic. As long as the country is at war, he will remain at the helm and be able to delay or even cancel his long-awaited corruption trial — so why bother ending it?
