Ms Truss was speaking ahead of the publication of her book - her account of her time in Number 10.
More a pamphlet really.
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

How to care for lettuce.
Why on earth are we still paying attention to this idiot and treating her opinions as if they are worthy of consideration?
She's doing the media rounds because her book about her 49 days as PM is released. Apparently almost everything, including causing everyone's mortgage to sharply rise, wasn't her fault.
She's just a footnote. At best.
And a god tier trivia question in 20 years. Who was prime Minister when the queen died?
Yeah she's one for the pub quiz.
About the only use she is, aside from discrediting any policy suggestions that come out of the Institute for Economic Affairs (i.e. the Tuffton Street Twats).
You think you know how dumb someone is, but they can always surprise you.
The 'world was safer' argument is an especially bizarre one to make this week, of all weeks, when the Middle East is 'on the cusp' of a wider conflict that was partly caused by Donald Trump's unilateral withdrawal from a treaty with Iran. And Trump also inflamed tensions in that same region by moving the US' Israeli Embassy to Jersualem. As to conflict in 'the West' specifically, he also endorsed and continues to endorse the very people pushing the West towards conflict, and himself caused violent conflict in the US, which was part of 'the West' last time I checked.
Not just the withdrawal, but also the assassination of a Revolutionary Guards general, which Iran themselves said was why they staged October 7 as an act of revenge.
Don't forget about freeing the 5000+ ISIS fighters & handing Afghanistan back over to them.
There are just so many counter examples! I honestly cannot think of a major political figure who's made such an utterly bizarre argument.
FYI Mz Truss, the Head Of Lettuce endorsed Biden. And Mr Lettuce lasted longer than you. Your "best by" date has passed!
Who does the cabbage endorse?
Narcissist losers of a feather, flock together.
and the West is "on the cusp" of conflict.> Partly because the orange idiot sucked up to them.
I know it's not a black and white case but he certainly didn't help, and still isn't.
Considering how her month long stint as PM went, I fully welcome her endorsement of Trump
Ah, so we're lowering bars today.
Sunik seems just as bad if not worse. Can any Brits elaborate on what it's like under him?
Truss was damaging the economy. This one's just utterly useless and keeps putting his foot in it. But he hasn't crashed the economy so that's a plus.
But he just bows down to the hard right, so even if he himself isn't hard right. So he is still pretty awful.
There is a reason no one likes him. He's completely useless so both the right and the left get irritated by him.
