If you've never played the games, it may take a few episodes to figure out, but my kids (who've never played) enjoyed it.
The universe has so many characters, factions, and creatures that I would say not even 1/4 are in the first season, so there is a lot of in universe room to expand and explore story-wise.
Not often I say this about new streaming series, but I highly recommend!
Itβs very entertaining
It constantly makes me smile, whether itβs being smart, the actors are giving perfectly calibrated performances, or the action suddenly goes wham-bam VATS over the top.
3 eps in. Happy.
We loved it - binged the whole thing in a couple of days. Probably helps that we're huge fans of Walton Goggins.
I watched episode 1.
I'm delighted they kept the feel and aesthetic of the games. I thought they might change it and just be Fallout in name.
That being said, I thought the majority of the show was boring, slow, directed poorly, and I just didn't buy most of the characters and therefore didn't feel anything for them.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. There's no rule that says first episodes have to be slow. But more to my point, slow also doesn't mean it has to be boring. Most of it was.
Three episodes in, fantastic so far
Itβs extremely good. They really knocked it out of the park. Itβs already been renewed for season 2.
I've watched the first season (8 episodes) and I think it's pretty good. I personally think the first episode was a little slow getting into things. If you don't know anything about Fallout it may be a bit confusing at first because they don't really explain much of the Fallout lore or how things work in that world, but it mostly all comes together by the end of the season.
Apparently they've already greenlit a second season so that's awesome, I'm just sad we'll have to wait until probably next year to see it.
If it's done by the Westworld peeps, i wouldn't be surprised if there aren't 2 years between seasons.
That makes me a little more sad.

Watched 6 episodes and I think I'm done. It's boring and very contrived and simply written. I'm not enjoying any of the characters or performances either
The prop and costume design is well done. That's about it
Also, they erased the New California Republic despite setting the show in California. Not sure why Bethesda hates ideas that they didn't personally create, but it's very off-putting
Binged it in one night, I enjoyed it a lot.
I've only just got done watching the first episode but I'm really enjoying it so far!
We've only watched the first couple of episodes and found it a bit too cartoony for our tastes.
One question I have for anyone who has watched the whole season - the question is a spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen the first episode.

Do they ever address the fact that the main character is raped in the first episode? Because it didn't come up in the second episode and we're unsure of whether the show creators are even aware they had a rape scene in their show.
Not really, but Iβm not even sure the character herself would qualify it as rape based on her upbringing, so that could be why.
I really wish they hadn't included it. I personally found it unenjoyable to watch those first couple episodes because of it.
(Dear reader: If you're first reaction to my opinion is that sexual violence against women in this setting is realistic and fits in the show, 1) this is a series with mutant animals caused by radiation and a guy in a robot suit 2) you don't think much of your fellow man if you think it's inevitable 3) it's just like, my opinion, man)
I haven't watched the whole first season but we're about halfway through and they didn't mention it again. It would have been worse if the main character herself felt more... harmed, but she seems very utilitarian about it. I feel pretty mid about the show overall (for more reasons than just this), and I'm just really tired of acts of sexual violence showing up in media that's meant to be goofy entertainment.
There's also murder and significant gore as well
In the game, too.
I must point out, I donβt remember sexual violence being part of the game (I played only 3 and 4, though).
Having a hard time sticking with it, partway through episode two. It seems very tropey and cliched, which I guess is part of the feel of the franchise. For some reason I don't feel drawn into the story.
I've never seen the video game so there's lots of questions. I'm only a few episodes in. It would be nice if they had explained some of the background.
A friend who's really into Fallout showed me some videos about the background lore.
Watched the first ep and it's pretty good. You can really tell the writers played and appreciated the game
