1L juice for comparison. You guys got these at your local? First time getting them in Brisbane. I use the paper bags for collecting recycling so the new size sucks for this.

Ugh.

My experience has been that Coles paper bags were already weaker/more prone to tearing than the Woolworths ones, so looks like they are doubling-down on their inferior product.

Yeah they’ll try and cut costs anywhere I reckon. Won’t be long and they’ll be disintegrating before you get them home!

I had assumed they were introduced specifically for home delivery because they are the same height as the crates. Are you saying they're using these in-store?

[–] kerr@aussie.zone 4 points 8 months ago

This was click and collect, and brought out in crates, so maybe that’s why.

They’re all just as shit. I broke a glass jar last time one of them broke on me.

On a related note, one of my endless todo items is to figure out a decent way to store them in the back of the car. My thought atm is to get some sort of flat, wide elastic strap and secure it to a corner of the boot, and then just kind of mush them all together in the elastic strap.

I’ve tried the car boot organisers. Their shit.

Get a reusable tote and chuck the strap over the headrest and the back of a seat? Fill it up with other bags if you need more than one.

Thats damn logical. Will give it a go. Thanks!

The elastic strap is a good idea. I have a couple of giant daiso bags that fit like 3 supermarket bags in them. Keeps them together and makes it a ton easier to carry instead of trying to loop 6 different bags through your fingers.
