Community for fans of the HBO show and Game of Thrones prequel: House of the Dragon.

The show follows George R Martin's "Dance of the Dragons" story, which has been outlined in various books including The World of Ice and Fire, and Fire and Blood. The main plot focuses on a brutal Targaryen civil war, and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Season 1 of the show started airing in August 2022, and consisted of 10 episodes released weekly.

Season 2 will begin in Summer of 2024, and will consist of 8 episodes. Showrunner Ryan Condal returns for Season 2, after the departing of Miguel Sapochnik.

Look, season 8 was a bit of a mess...but even messy Thrones still has its redeeming qualities. What were your favourite moments?

Brienne being Knighted was one of those rare moments. We got 7 years of build up, some great character work with Her and Jaime and even had some of our favourite characters around to experience it alongside her.

For my money, that might have been the last truly great scene in the series.

You?

Episode 2 was fantastic. Yes it was slow, but it had a lot of good dialogue and character moments. It seemed like they were setting it up to the viewer as if most of these people would die in the next episode. Then things just went weird from ep 3 onwards. It's like a completely different team made episode 3 and decided that all of the emotional setup in ep 2 just meant ... nothing? Really odd.

Say what you want about the Bells episode, but seeing character reactions to Dany going insane was so good. Tyrion, Cersei, Jon etc. The actual DRAMA of that episode was amazing, even if the twist was completely botched.
