An example: let’s say there’s a few comments on a post. A very controversial post has 10 upvotes, but 50 downvotes on other servers; the rest of the less-controversial comments have <10 upvotes.

Would this show up at the top, or the bottom, of the comments, when you’re using a downvote-disabling instance like Beehaw?

(i.e. are downvotes completely ignored for all calculations and behavior, or are they just “hidden” in the UI?)

As a Beehaw and Lemmy.World user I THINK it's this one. Here's a link to a previous comment that kind of touches on it. It's sitting at 44 upvotes for me on Beehaw but I can't check with the lemmy.world account because the defederation lol
