Hey,

I recently cleanned ink from a converter but I seen to have gotten ink past the piston mechanism.

Any ideas as to how to fix that?

What pen is it? Many converters can be taken apart. I've tried and succeeded with Waterman, Schmidt standard international, Esterbrooks (which also seems to be a version of standard international converter) and Platinum.

It's a Sailor converter, came with a pro gear pen.

That is so simple yet perfect. Thanks! I guess I get scared of breaking stuff a bit too much.

Sailor and Platinum converters are easily disassembled/reassembled.Try it :)
