Sounds for Sleep? (mander.xyz)

What music, albums, sounds or noise do you sleep to?

I've stayed at a friends place many times and find the relaxing piano playlists they sleep to infuriate me and keep me awake. It's like nursery rhyme level calming 4/4 piano stuff. It's so inoffensive it offends me.

I used to sleep to music many years ago and am exploring it again in light of where I stay at the moment being rather noisy.

My son has been putting on rain/thunderstorm stuff from Youtube at night, this is better than relaxing piano.

A friend suggested a few Brian Eno albums, acceptable but not quite ideal.

My best sleeps with tunes recently has been stuff like this on loop but this will likely drive friends and children insane.

Just curious what, if anything, others sleep to.

i used to play music while trying to sleep, just on the lowest volume from my phone speaker, but haven’t been doing that for a few months. i would just put on whatever i’d been listening to during the day, which, funnily enough, would often tend to be pretty high energy so what screamy alt rock music. ie. my chemical romance, sleeping with sirens, pierce the veil.

now if i find myself wanting to have sound while falling asleep, i just put on plain quiet rain.
