Been going pretty bad, actually.

Two days ago I was moving my car and I saw a rabbit laying on my lawn. Then I noticed that it was badly injured. I tried to get help for it, but it slowly died in front of me. Then, I had to scoop the dead body into a bag and put it in my garage can.

And just to add to my stress, yesterday, my son had to call the IRS to verify his identity. We'd been trying for over a week, but the number kept telling us "we're too busy to take your call" before hanging up. We finally got through and my son verified his information.

Only the IRS agent said that it didn't match what they have on file. Someone submitted a fake return in his name last year so now I'm worried about what other stuff was done under his name and how hard it'll be to fix it all.

We're going in Monday morning to confirm his identity in person, but I might not be allowed to go in with my 19 year old autistic son.

I'm stressed at the moment and my brain keeps coming up with worst case scenarios.

Ow that sounds stressful. Did it end up getting sorted?

Yes. My son and I went to the IRS office and, despite my brain cooking up horrible scenarios (including us getting arrested - my brain apparently hates me), it went very smoothly.

The agent there had no clue what the person on the phone was talking about. Her best guess was that the phone agent wasn't trained well and looked up someone else's information. After a few moments, everything was sorted out and my son will receive his refund.

Oh that's great news. I know what you mean though - it's so exhausting thinking of all the ways things can go wrong. Hope you have a great week this week
