Tipping has gotten way out of hand and I’d be glad to see it go.
A lot of places ask for a large % tip now, and often it’s expected that you do so.
I've seen restaurants ask me to tip when I order food and pick it up myself to take home to eat. What point in that transaction requires tipping? I get if your food is brought to your table or if it's delivered. (I'll argue that tipping culture should go away and the people should be paid a fair wage, but I'll also recognize that tips should be given until that happens.)
But if you order your food over the phone and pick it up yourself? What's next? Adding a tip in the grocery store when you use the self checkout lane? Oh, wait...
