Self-care Sunday has kicked in early with a 7am dry sauna session.

Local gym has an 80 degree dry sauna that is absolute magic. Even more so when it's empty this early and I don't have to listen to people talk shit.

What has everyone else got scheduled in for self-care today?

Get a workout in, then who knows. Face mask and chill out tonight!

Good combo.

Clean skin. Clear mind from the workout.

Definitely got your shit together

Workout was an absolute ripper - cycle class and I walked out feeling on cloud nine. Cool down stretches with the bf, then coffee and a shared brownie. Sunday is going awesome!

What else is on for your self care day?! Loving this thread, btw!

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago

Sharing a brownie? Yeah not sure about that one 😂

Think I might try and make self care Sunday a recurring thread.

It's an increasingly important part of my week as I continue in my new job.

We practice holistic HR, and a big part of that is our open door policy and being available for everyone who has something going on in their life or at work that they need someone to talk to.

It's equal parts rewarding and emotionally taxing while I get used to it.

Hitting up a market, and then lunch with an old friend. And I'm going to wear a nice dress and my favourite shoes 😊

Yarra Glen! I haven't been in years, I'm pumped.

A walk, a mindfullness movement workshop for trans and gender diverse people later. Minecraft for chilling out and skin care. Eating the mega healthy vege stew I made the other day. AA at some stage. Also playing and chilling with my cats seems like self care too.

Love skin care on a Sunday.

Sounds like you're well and truly ticking all the self care boxes today

I’m in Brisbane for a work conference, so I’ll do some sightseeing today before the conference starts tomorrow.

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We'll that's a bit of nice.

Any idea what you want to see while you're up there?

[–] the_procrastinata@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

Today will be the Clock Tower Tour at the city hall, then the state art gallery/museum/library and a second market in the afternoon. Taking it relatively relaxed but would like to get some culture in me today. Maybe a stroll in some gardens depending on weather and time.

Six hours of overtime - does being able to pay the bills count as self care?

Then some bot training, so I can offload future work. Plus some general good food, a nice long walk with the dog, and some more weights training.

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Definitely counts as self care if it's helps you sleep at night knowing you can pay your bills

Bot training sounds more badass than what it is, so I'm just gonna pretend you're training Baymax from Big Hero 6

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think that's the best way of visualising. Because changing a couple of minor settings and doing another test post with a longer timeframe to see what happens really just sounds dull.🤣

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

Fighting Baymax.

Got it 👍

It's a rest day from my exercises today so I'll probably try and balance being lazy with an assault on Mount Washmore.

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Resting between loads still counts

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago

True. Especially if I sneak back to bed and nobody notices! 🤫

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

Love that name. So very descriptive.

Oooh nice one.

What are we baking today?

[–] TassieTosser@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Trying my hand at sourdough and a lemon cake.

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Both sound like sexy options

Love a good syrupy lemon cake

[–] TassieTosser@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

The recipe I got is more of a dry lemon shortcake.

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Toast and a cup of coffee and zone out for the day I reckon?

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago

Sounds good. Bonus points it there's butter

[–] landsharkkidd@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Going to spend it by doing some last minute cleaning before the inspection on Tuesday, also will bake some biscuits and prep for tomorrow's lunch.

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm not into cleaning but definitely into biscuits

Post pics when they're made

[–] landsharkkidd@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Here ya go! I ate one after this but they're good! (Also sorry if it double posts. I thought I posted this earlier!)

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Awww nice.

I would eat every last one of them and share nothing

[–] _miss_cellophane_@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sounds lovely Smeg!

I'm gonna tidy up the house, and make up a batch of florentines. Now I have BF hanging around I can make treats more regularly since its not just me eating them!

[–] Sir_ListerOfSmeg@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Florentines sound amazing.

I too can't be trusted to be alone with biscuits
