Influx of Lemmy brothers and sisters incoming. Already 3K and growing deep, we may as well rebuild together. Let's do this! 🤝

Edit : Yes there are workarounds using Revanced. Check the comments for some awesome help on how to do this if you wish! Just know, in the future it will most likely end up being patched annoyingly and I therefore recommend looking forward to the future with us here.

The ReVanced team have stolen the API keys from the actual Reddit app and have made patchers available for a number of Reddit apps including Sync & RiF. You'll need a fresh copy of the APK and ReVanced manager:

-don't shill it to "anyone" like some idiots did to a certain website not long ago

Wow that was quick, those devs are crazy 😲 🏆 cloning just in-case it gets taken down

Wouldn't be surprised if the ReVanced patches swapped out the API keys for Reddit's own, so Reddit's servers just think it's their own app. For now that approach may be viable, but Reddit will undoubtedly be working on checks to prevent this.

I'm just running into errors here, and the patching aborts itself. Not my first time using revanced either, so no idea what's happening.

Thank you, I did it and it worked flawlessly for Rif. Here's a guide for people who may find it confusing and just want to use RiF again ASAP.

First step, install the latest Rif from Play Store.

Second step, visit reddit.com/prefs/apps

Third, Create a new app, select Installed App and under redirection URL type in "redditisfun://auth" with no quotes.

Fourth, Under Redirect paste the API key above into a text file in the root directory of your folder, for example if you open Solid Explorer the first page here is where you open a new text file and name the file "reddit_clientid_revanced.txt" without quotes, paste JUST your API key in this file, and save it and don't move the file.

Fifth, go to Revanced Manager and patch RIF, when it's done, uninstall your current copy of RIF, and press the update button to install the newly patched RiF, everything should work including NSFW for now, don't forget to login like normally.
