While it's true that Trump is a legitimate threat to our security and even our sovereignty, I think it's also true that nearly every MLA in Canada (ie MPs, MPPs, and other MLAs) are exaggerating their concerns in an attempt to consolidate power. Donald might not be clear on the details, but he knows how the game is played.
This is a Naomi Kline-esque "shock" and we are getting fucked from both sides right now. Those claiming to be our friends, are not our friends.
I don’t think so. Trump wants to expand the territory of the US. Be it in Panama, Greenland, Canada, or Gaza - he will make some attempt. That’s what authoritarians do, see Putin & Ukraine, Xi & Taiwan, Hitler & Austria. I hope it’s not Canada because that would definitely spark a war. I don’t think clear threats to our sovereignty are exaggerations or attempts to consolidate power at all. We do however need a mandate through a general election to deal with the US.
You don't think that the so called good guys are taking advantage of the situation?? You don't think the Westons are dumping millions of dollars into astroturfing a "Buy Canadian!!!!!1!!" campaign? You don't think Ford and the LPC are exploiting the situation to (attempt to) win elections they otherwise could not possibly? You think the LPC is really on YOUR SIDE??
