this under 16 age ban thing is interesting. As a kid or teen I would have been FURIOUS. As an adult... I totally get it!

As a father of teens, I get why it's being implemented. Waaay too many kids have unfiltered and unrestricted access to shit that's just plain wrong.

It's also 100% on the parents to know what their kids are up to.

Kids are expert in not letting p's know though.

While that is true, there is a level of trust between kids and parents that needs to be established. I think my wife and did a job with this, and our kids very honest with us.

Ironically, I was not honest with my parents, as they wouldn't really listen to my opinions.

That's it, you have to know your kids.

We'll have discussion with our kids on any range of topics. Our opinions might differ but they have a voice. And sometimes they're right, which I'm happy to admit to them. At the same time, we encourage them to use logic and think of consequences (and causes) of different things.

Something I've never had with my parents, and my wife had even less.

It's not perfect parenting, but I know my kids and our kids know us.

We do the same... I just hope I never have to discover where my line is for maintaining contact despite them turning into right wingers like Mary Leunig had to...

On one level itโ€™s good because I donโ€™t really think kids should be in a lot of places they are.

On the other Iโ€™m worried that all the adults are going to have to prove their age with ID which would impact on privacy and potentially leak.

That's a line I'm not willing to cross.

Agreed, I think it wonโ€™t work and wonโ€™t do anything but harm
