Imagine if there were a Chinese paper that reported on the US the way these people report on China. Trump and other antivaxxers would be national heros to the readers of that paper.
I don't know what you want to say or what it has to do with the linked report, but there is a lot of propaganda on Chinese state-controlled media (e.g., [reports on a 'civil war in Texas'](Misinformation spreads in China on ‘civil war’ in Texas), things like that).
What 'these people' report is on a person who forcibly disappeared after a peaceful protest, for holding a white paper. Every human being with a sane mind must condemn that.
"disappeared," a COVID denying nut was arrested using standard procedures. This is no different than the thousands in the US arrested the same way for the same crime.
And no, "Chinese state media," is not reporting and has not reported about a civil war in Texas. Maybe some random indie newspaper, maybe some cult rag like the epoch times, but he media that primarily reports on domestic policy is not commenting on internal US drama.
An 'indie newspaper' in China. Yah, that makes sense. (/s, just to be safe)
China has more small businesses per capita than the US, and more media companies than the US.
Sure, and the central government has no influence on the media. No censorship, right?
Of course the government can influence media, that's one of its primary jobs, just like in the US and UK. You can't call for an insurrection in any media in any country.
Peng Lifa didn't call for insurrection, he held a white paper.
Read the article you posted, or more information about the arrest. He did not just hold up a white paper, according to your own article.
You're right. One banner read:
And another read:
You could write such banners in the U.S. and any Western democracy, and nothing would happen. In China, you disapear.
