Looks like he's figured out what needs to be done for iOS to properly intake USB video device class stuff.

There's a picture of the PCB he designed with some core components blurred out.

It's a cool idea. The Apple ios cameras are such high quality that it'll take a pretty high end camera to be better. It's still nice to have options.
