              Francis Ngannou was surprised but glad when Deontay Wilder made an appearance at a PFL event.
Ngannou confirmed that he had discussions with Wilder earlier this year about a potential two-fight deal.
They decided to postpone their fight plans so that Wilder could focus on his upcoming fight with Anthony Joshua in December.
Ngannou expressed interest in fighting Wilder in 2024 when he starts his PFL run.
Wilder showed openness to trying MMA, unlike Tyson Fury, who dismissed the idea of a hybrid - boxing/MMA fight with Ngannou.
Fury clarified that he is only interested in boxing and is scheduled to fight Joshua at the end of the year.
Ngannou doubts that Dana White can convince Fury to consider an MMA fight.
Ngannou is focused on MMA and expects to debut in the PFL early next year, while the possibility of a boxing match is uncertain.
