I mean don't get me wrong, its cool a lot of subs have and still are participating in the blackout, but I think it wouldve been better to link a new home for the subreddits participating somewhere in the private message. Show spez, hey if you dont change, we aren't going to use your site (or use it less).

I'm not disappointed. Sure, it would be awesome if Reddit toppled and all my favorite subs and people migrated to Lemmy... but that's unrealistic.

What you can look at is the HUGE (relatively speak) increase in users on Lemmy. This is a direct result of the blackout: People began exploring (I know I did).

And to be honest, I feel optimistic about Lemmy. Yeah, it's not Reddit... but that also a good thing. We can all see the path Reddit will travel and it will be in a way where you and I are the product to be sold before, during, and after the IPO. The fact that Reddit allows people to share ideas will forever be "an afterthought". That's not the case with the fediverse and it cannot be, given the distributed nature of it... and this gives me hope.
