I am probably going to switch to Kbin. I think it does a good job of combining Mastodon and Lemmy into a single user interface. By this, I mean that ever "Magazine" on Kbin (which is equivalent to a SubReddit or a Lemmy "community" also has a
/<mag-name>/microblog
API which lets you create Mastodon-like posts associated with the magazine. People on Mastodon can subscribe to that magazine and view those microblog posts as an ActivityPub "group."It would be nice if Lemmy copied that feature. But regardless of whether they do, I think over all I like Kbin a bit better and will probably switch.
It's also nice to be able to easily follow Mastodon accounts across the whole Fediverse.
Even though I've always liked more to read news / blog posts and never found much appeal to Twitter-like services, I feel that maybe some specific accounts might be worth following, and having it integrated as part of the same service is very convenient.
