Just thinking out loud with all the current buzz - Anyone on here connected to National Capital Freenet? Would they have any interest in hosting a Lemmy instance for locals by donation (like they do with email, but donation scaled appropriately for whatever costs they take on)?

Always good to add another node, and from the outside this sounds like it would be in their wheelhouse (non-corporate, low/managed cost digital communication access).

Bingo. There may be room for smaller, locally focused communities as well, but my real interest is just having the account. Really lean into that "fediverse = email, but different" stuff.
