Finished watching Station Eleven.

no spoilers but chunky text anywayIt was patchy at times - The Prophet was a very unconvincing character for the most part. And it felt like they handwaved too many contrived situations just to make us feel something. Makes sense that the show runner did The Leftovers, I don't remember most of it now except that I felt it also veered on sentimental. But those odd-numbered episodes, particularly 5, 7 and 9, were really quite something... and even if the show ending was a little too neat/pat, by that point it was emotionally well earned and I kinda didn't care about some of the character issues as much. I think I would've been a total blubbering mess if I really did watch this in 2021.

7/10 on average, 9/10 for the odd numbered episodes.

I'm currently watching The Magicians (2015).

How is it? The premise sounds interesting

I liked it. It was an interesting take . No dystopia.

It was refreshingly hopeful and I definitely would like to see more fiction about the positive aspects of real human relationships post-apocalypse. Finding art, love, trust and community (while the nutsos kill each other off or learn to leave peaceful people alone for their own survival).

Though i think both the book and the TV show do make a point that the first period of adjustment is going to be unsafe and violent for most.

Yes. All those positive aspects of humanity are a drive just as much as the negative. :)
