I know you're supposed to pronounce it along the lines of "blo-hi", but the Anglicized "blahaj" is so hard to resist!

Wait, what's the difference between "dzh" and a "hard j"? (Assuming "zh" refers to the final sound in "garage.") The "hard J" is just a combination of "d" and "zh".

Well, I'm not sure if there is any difference - sorry, not a native speaker. I mean sound like this: https://pronuncian.com/pronounce-j-sound

there is no difference, a hard j (like in jacket) is the same thing as "dzh", just "dzh" is more spelled out instead of just being a name for it
