I agree with keep things positive. but it does not make for a good rule. say now someone posts something about stage 20 loadshedding? will this get removed because its not about a sunny day and butterflies?
Perhaps the solution for that is to rather encourage Positive content to be created by the community. via a weekly event where you ask what made your week? or its Friday lets meme or stuff like that? Make post about stories about our heritage. Also remember you can champion a form of this, because what content you choose to supply the sub now will effect what future people will want to post.
IDK just adding to the mix here
I agree, that's good perspective. I think encourage positivity it likely better worded. (Never been a mod, just trying to contribute.)
That being said and done, we need to remember that this is not reddit, and our community rules do not supersede the instance owner's code of conduct. For communities who are in lemmy.world, for instance, it needs to be noted what they say regarding controversial, "inflammatory", topics, and even free speech. It's very broad and nothing unreasonable, but might be good to remind people that all community rules taken into account, they stick to the rules of this community's instance code of conduct as well. It's not majorly complex, but lemmy.world does allow for what I suggested, thus making my suggestion just as simple as giving a link to the instance's code of conduct.

I hope this helps a bit.
You sir, are well informed.
Thanks for that link, it does help a lot.
Only a pleasure!
I agree with you. I would rather say handle negative stuff on a positive way. The way people react to stuff is important.
I like the idea of a weekly event!
