If you ever visit "All" to see about what community you might be interested, chances are you see the batches of nsfw posts from one of those bot instances.

Here is what you can currently do as a user:

  • click the block button "stop sign" icon to block the bot account. It's pretty quick and usually discreet as you don't need to visit their instance. And if the bot is setup to post for the wide different communities on that instance it won't show in your "All" feed again.

  • go to their instance and block all their existing communities. Very slow, sometimes the community icon, description might contain nsfw content. It's longer but if they changes the bot account name posts from those community won't show up.

  • tell the instance owner about the nsfw bot spamming instance and let them handle the filter. Note: I don't know if it actually works, cause if you click "all" I guess it tries to fetch from fediverse? please correct me if I am wrong.

yeah, I am not against porn or whatever fetish the bot creator has. There are probably more websites than I can imagine on the internet that they can filter and get what they wanted "exactly". Just the randomly "in your face" string of bot spam(all the image blurred thank goodness) is what prompt me to post this.
