Reddit feels like it got angrier over the last couple of years. It became more common for me to get into heated arguments, and the prospect of leaving has made me realize that I don’t think I enjoy Reddit nearly as much as I did a decade ago. I struggle to understand what I’m still getting out of it, to be honest.
I’m especially tired of opening up Apollo and seeing bigotry all over the front page of Reddit. This one has gotten a lot worse in recent years. I’ve specifically chosen a Lemmy instance where that kind of thing isn’t permitted, so I hope that will help.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around how all of this works. It’s not as intuitive, but I’m sure it will make sense in a few days.
