Ok so I am just trying to do some regular ol' filing sharing between two Windows computers. 1 laptop, which I intend to use as a Plex server after I get this working. And 1 desktop that I have for media library.

I have both set to Private network, I have Network Discovery on both, I have File Sharing enabled for both, 128 bit encryption for both, basically complete match of settings in the Network & Sharing Center.

I also have the drives with my media set to Share in Properties. On my desktop, under Network, I can see the laptop and access its shared folders. I can also see the desktop and its shared drivers are visible.

When I go to Network on the laptop, only the laptop shows. The desktop does not show.

I have even bothered to login to my Windows account on both computers thinking that might how sync things up but to no avail.

I'm not sure what other settings I can adjust, I've looked through a ton of YT videos on how to set it up and I'm not missing any steps.

Please help.

Are they on the same network? If wireless is one on a guest network?
