You are the port I’m bound for,

unless I drown in transit.

Fears beset me, though.

Full of fear I grow

that the shore might take you in its folds and retreat

before I hit land;

that all my heavy clouds of dreams

might go astray with the wind

and disperse away.

I'm enjoying these excepts. Are they from a copy of Modern Sudanese Poetry: An Anthology?

they are yes; it's a good book which i have a digital copy of. no idea how available it is in print if you would like to examine the full thing lol
