I mean, Lemmy.ml chose the ml domain because it was free and it's also short for Marxism-Leninism. I'm sure if they could've gotten MLM they would've. I stay away from Lemmy.ml communities on principle because of that.

@PugJesus me too. If there's on other servers I go there. lemmygrad and lemmy.ml are servers owned by the same people who created Lemmy itself. When you get your first ban over practically noyhing (as I was in the past) this means that this is the server's policy.

(And yes, Lemmy creators are hardcore commies, but they candy wrap their server as being something general, while supressing any opinion that doesn't fit their tankie narrative)

I really do not mind other points of view, but as far as politics go when you choose one (form of government) over another and it becomes your whole persona, then (IMO) you are the product of that form of governments propaganda...and a weak minded diaper filled silly person.

Let's not conflate communism with stalinists

@boredtortoise I heard multiple times phrases like this. While I do agree that there is a difference between the two, the line between them seems to be a really fine one. There wouldn't have been stalinism without communism and all the bad things that the communism was responsible for (i.e. political repression, power concentration in the hands of a few people, complete disregard of private property, the lack of a freedom of speech - yes, free speech, not freeze peach) happened outside of the Stalin era in all the "socialist" countries.

It might be that the stalinist sect and its totalitarian relatives did as much harm to communism as the CIA

They are the same thing
