Curious if there is a specific update schedule when the site goes down for maintenance/when the latest releases are loaded or if it's ad-hoc?

Yeah me too! It's pushed me to make a backup instance. Whether Tom is just a busy boy or something is wrong, I think this instance needs more admins.
