The reason I'm asking is instead of just giving it a go is it isn't available to stream in my region. So I would have to acquire it in some other way if I give it a go.

I have never seen it before. I'm not a huge sci-fi fan or anything. I watched some Star Trek: TNG and liked it just fine. Do not like OG Star Trek at all.

I just landed on the B5 wikipedia page and the synopsis intrigued me.

Has it aged ok or does it feel like old? I don't care all that much if the effects or make up is a bit dated. It's more that the acting and storylines in 90's tv shows isn't always the greatest.
Is it heavy handed with trying to give the viewer moral lessons like some older shows tend to?
Also not looking for a action show nor do I care all that much about shocking story twists that newer media tends to lean on.

So TLDR I guess: Is the story and acting good?

I know it's hard to recommend things to people you don't know so any kind of input would be appreciated.

Been a big fan of Star Trek: Next Gen since I was a kid, and finally decided to start watching Deep Space Nine after hearing good things about it (and after finding a way to watch it for free). So far im loving it, and it does a lot of things better than Next Gen surprisingly! So what are your favorite episodes of Deep Space Nine?

In my case it was very nearly a year ago. A contemporary opera, which I had my doubts about - having only seen one about 30 years back and finding it immensely dull (I should have twigged since they were handing out free tickets: the only reason I went. However this one was actually pretty good: Violet by Tom Could and Alice Birch - a metaphor on climate change with a great concept and some memorable performances.

It was part of a festival, and I also saw a couple of comedy shows in the fringe, both needing a deal of work before they would be going much further.

I was surprised to realise how long back these were. There was a time when I would expect to get to some type of stage performance at least every few months or so. However, I live in a fairly rural situation now, and it doesn't happen so often.

How about you?

My whole family loves Shane and Ryan. They have a great chemistry together. I will admit I am not a huge fan of the "Are you afraid of..." series.

We are all certified Shaniacs by the way.

Any DS9 fans here? At first I hated Kai Winn episodes, but then I realized how well she works as a villain in the series. Gul Dukat was the more impactful antagonist overall, but the series might have been more shallow if everyone on Bajor was a "good guy", although it would have been nice to see more of Kai Opaka before ...
spoiler... they killed her off (or after they killed her and brought her back, but stranded her in the Gamma Quadrant).

This is my first post. I am looking for a good place for Star Trek discussions, news, jokes, memes, etc. that isn't reddit. I figure it will be a while before it needs it's own community. I'm going to miss some of the content in trek subreddits, but not the Paramount sponsored mods.

Origami paper boxes are fun and practical crafts that can be used for storing small items or even as gift boxes. Follow these steps to make a simple origami paper box:

Start with a square sheet of origami paper. If you don't have origami paper, you can use any square-shaped paper, such as scrapbook paper or cut a square from regular paper.

Fold the paper in half diagonally, crease it well, and unfold. You should have a diagonal crease running from one corner to another.

Fold the paper in half diagonally in the opposite direction, crease it well, and unfold. You will have two intersecting diagonal creases on the paper.

Fold the four corners of the paper towards the center, aligning them with the intersection of the diagonal creases. Crease well.

Turn the paper over. Fold the four corners towards the center again, aligning them with the intersection of the diagonal creases. Crease well.

Fold the bottom edge of the paper up towards the top edge, crease it well, and unfold. Then, fold the left edge towards the right edge, crease it well, and unfold. You will have two perpendicular creases in the center of the paper.

Using the creases as a guide, collapse the paper into a square shape by pushing the sides towards the center and folding along the existing creases.

Tuck the flaps of the paper into the pocket formed by the overlapping flaps to secure the box.

Gently press the sides and edges of the box to reinforce the creases and make sure it holds its shape.

Congratulations! You have successfully made an origami paper box. You can decorate it with stickers, drawings, or ribbon to add a personal touch.
