I’ve said this before, but I’m bringing it up again because engagement actually matters. Right-wing content dominates YouTube because their audience likes, comments, subscribes, and shares, which tricks the algorithm into pushing their content further. Meanwhile, anti-Trump media struggles because people watch but don’t engage.

I’m not trying to promote anyone, and honestly, some of these people I don’t even like. But at the end of the day, it’s better to amplify their content than let right-wing propaganda take over. If you’re looking for solid anti-Trump content, these are some channels worth checking out:

Brian Tyler Cohen – Sharp, concise breakdowns of Trump and GOP corruption.

MeidasTouch – Focused on exposing Trumpism with strong digital activism.

The Good Liars – Satire and on-the-ground interviews that expose right-wing hypocrisy.

[Redacted TYT as many have claimed that they’re right wing now]

LegalEagle – Breaks down Trump’s legal troubles in a way that actually makes sense.

Beau of the Fifth Column – Explains politics and Trump’s impact with a calm, logical approach.

David Pakman – In-depth analysis on Trump and the far-right.

Hasan Minhaj – Political comedy that blends sharp analysis with humor.

The Bulwark – Conservative but firmly anti-Trump, with deep dives into the GOP’s decline.

I’ve Had It – A podcast with sharp, no-BS commentary on politics and culture.

The Back Forty – Focuses on rural America, Democratic political strategy, and agroforestry.

Parkrose Permaculture – While not strictly political, it focuses on sustainability and anti-corporate messaging that aligns with resisting right-wing control.

Trevor Noah: What Now? – Deep-dive conversations on politics, culture, and current events with a mix of humor and insight.

If you follow any anti-Trump creators, drop their names below so more people can check them out. Again, I don’t love all these people, but I’d rather boost them than let the algorithm push right-wing disinformation instead.

Engage, don’t just watch. That’s how we win.

Note: PLEASE POST NON-US influencers too!!!

ETA: apparently they are trying some lame ass maneuver to ge tot say they voted against it and still vote for it with like a marginal compromise (idk what). So when you call-- say no to the CR and also YES to shutting the gvt down.

(the compromise is on dates not the overall content-- compromise still creates legal coverage for CR, still increases Trump's power, still cuts medicaid/medicare/ss, etc).

This is going to be a heavy topic. But it is one that cannot be ignored. And do not be mistaken, this is a genocide. The GOP knows exactly what they are doing and how it will affect people, and when trans people are gone and or broken, it will not end, they will just move on to the next target. And once they've broken us, that us a layer of safety others will no longer have. They have no end, they will continue to persecute everyone until only the rich and white remain, and the women and children and the poor are subjugated. Just because trans people are their current targets, does NOT mean they'll stop at us. Fascism always an enemy, an other, to blame, persecute, and exterminate. Fascism is everyone's enemy.

The GOP and their supporters have entered stage 9 of the 10 steps of Genocide. The it started with classification of trans people as an "other", they used our symbols to identify us at the other, they have long discriminated against us (if you need me to provide proof of the GOP discriminating against trans people, you don't pay attention enough), they dehumanise us by revoking our right to participate in civic activities like sports and other activities, they organise themselves in the explicit goal to attack trans people, they produce propaganda targeting us, they frame their attack on trans people as "in defence of women from gender ideology" (which if you know how the nazis in 1930's Germany used the argument "defending Germans from national-jewlry" this should be setting off massive red flags), they identify us and make lists of everyone who changes their gender marker and who presents as trans in public, and now stage 9 the extermination.

But how? How are they exterminating trans people? With all the surveillance and independent media watch, how? Well, what better way to hide a genocide than to make it appear as if they had nothing to do with it? By passing state legislation and executive orders targeting us across 49 of the 50 States in America, 687 anti-trans bills active all 49 of those states, 17 passed since Trump took office in January. If they can't kill us outright, they sure as hell will make life such s living hell for trans people that we take our own lives to escape the persecution and hate.

They turn our co-workers, our classmates, former friends, bosses, community members, neighbours, and even our own families against us. They turn the world against us and make it impossible to transition. They deprive us of our ability to be ourselves and enjoy any amount of life. They make it impossible to seek assistance and make it harder for us to get jobs to sustain ourselves. They make the world as bad as possible so we decide that it's easier to give up than live. So they don't have to take any responsibility for the damage they knowingly caused.

This is genocide through coercion.

If you need proof of the correlation between these anti-trans state laws and how that affects our lives, I will leave links below, along with the 10 stages of genocide.

🚨 🚨🚨 RED ALERT TIME SENSITIVE: This is serious!

Call your senators now and tell them to vote NO on the CR. Senators will vote on this tomorrow (3/13/25) . There is no time to loose!

We need Democratic Senators to hold the line and not allow this CR to pass. It gives Trump more power on the budget and hurts Americans. The Democrats can stop it. It cannot be moved to a floor vote without 60 senators. Republicans don't have 60.

What this CR aims to do:

Republicans want to give up the right to vote on budget issues for the next 6 months and instead give complete control to the president.

They are using the risk of a government shutdown to push this bill.

Dont let them do this! This bill will grant Trump with king-powers to further dismantle the U.S government departments.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPzO9qi-yvI

https://www.govexec.com/federal-news/2025/03/house-passes-gop-funding-bill-avoid-government-shutdown/403665/

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/house-passes-bill-to-fund-federal-agencies-through-september

If a shutdown happens it will be blamed on democrats but this is better than the alternative . TELL YOUR SENATOR THIS! Because right now they are undecided on how to vote.

The [link](https://indivisible.org/resource/call-now-tell-senate-democrats-hold-line-against-extreme-maga-continuing-resolution?source=bluesky) leads to Indivisible's call link. It will give you the number of your representative. Consider fax if you can!

Do not give up. Do not back down.

A clip Sen. Murphy posted on twitter:

"A young man by the name of Mahmoud Khalil, an immigrant and a legal permanent resident of the Unites States, is being held right now in prison, even though no criminal charges have been filed against him.

I want to tell you why that should matter to every single American. Khalil is a recent graduate of Columbia University. He opposed Israel's military operation in Gaza. He has deep animus toward Israel's policies and the U.S. support for those policies. He helped organize the protests over Gaza at his university last year. You can disagree with his views or his politics, but there is no evidence he has broken any law.

But last weekend, Trump officials entered his apartment and took him into custody. They brought him to a detention facility in New Jersey, but when his family went to visit him, he wasn't there. For a while, his family and lawyer had no idea where he was. They eventually found out he was being held in a detention facility in Louisiana, and that's where he still is today.

In dictatorships, they call this practice "being disappeared." No charges, no claims of criminal behavior. The White House doesn't claim he did anything criminal. He's in jail because of his political speech. And here's why everybody should care.

In America, your political speech is protected, whether or not the president likes what you say.

Today, if you're loyal to Donald Trump, your speech is going to be protected--even if it's hate speech. You can be Marko Elez, an employee of DOGE who said he "was racist before it was cool," and "normalize Indian hate,' and the vice president of the United States will tweet in your defense.

But if you are disloyal to Trump or you're organizing against Trump's political agenda, your speech could be criminalized. You could find yourself in jail.

Trump chose to begin by disappearing a Palestinian immigrant, hoping that his place of birth and his immigrant status would cause people to look the other way. But we cannot. Because once it becomes normal for the regime to disappear people simply for protest against the regime's policies--once a citizen or a resident of America can be locked away with no charges against them, simply because they protested, there is no going back for America.

Even if you're a hardened Trump supporter, this practice should cross the line for you.

Even if you disagree with Khalil's views, this practice should cross the line for you.

This has nothing to do with supporting Trump. This is about supporting an American value--maybe the most important American value: protecting free speech, even if it's speech you disagree with.

If our new reality is that a president can disappear an opposition protestor with no charges filed against them, we are not America any longer.

Today it's Mahmoud Khalil. Tomorrow it's me or you."

__________________________________________________________________________________

And I'll end with a quote from my newly favorite French senator: "In American history, the defenders of freedom have always prevailed. They are beginning to rise again."

Edited: a few typos

A couple days ago, the "NATO Edge Act" was introduced by Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) and Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE).

  • H.R.2010 - To prevent the President of the United States from withdrawing from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Excerpt from the press release:

Today, United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) authored and introduced the bipartisan NATO Edge Act that would reaffirm the United States’ ironclad commitment to NATO and prevents any administration from unilaterally withdrawing from the alliance. Rep. Panetta introduced this bill with Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02). The United States has long stood for freedom, democracy, and the defense of our allies against aggression. That commitment is being tested as Ukraine continues its fight for sovereignty against Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion. Recent developments in Washington and across the Atlantic have reinforced why our leadership on the global stage is more important than ever. Supporting Ukraine is not just about standing with an ally, it’s about defending the principles that keep us safe and secure.

You can read the rest of the press release for more information on how this relates to similar pro-NATO legislation passed in the previous Congress.

Please consider contacting your Representative in the House and asking them to support this crucial legislation (H.R.2010), which would reassert Congress's role in shaping US foreign policy and reaffirm support for America's allies in Europe and Canada.

Every protest, yard sign, boycott, petition, phone call, email, etc. puts pressure on politicians and businesses. Even small actions matter!

So stop with the naysaying. It's not enlightening or helpful. Use that time you would have spent commenting and direct it towards change.

The Continuing Resolution that narrowly passed in the house Tuesday is heading for a Senate vote. It contains no guardrails for DOGE and expands presidential discretion in funding allocations, completely removing any congressional oversight for the next 6 months. Dems are the opposition party and it is time for them to start acting like it. There is no point in trying to placate Republicans to avoid a shutdown - DOGE is already shutting down the government, and even the Feds on reddit are in support of a shutdown because it will wake up the average politically-unengaged American to the complete mismanagement of our government. Yes, a shut down will have economic consequences, but feeling those consequences is going to be the only thing that is going to turn voters against Trump.

Republicans need 8 Dems to join them to pass the CR. Fetterman has said he is going to vote for it, while Rand Paul has said he will vote No. Please call your Senators now and urge them to vote No - the 5 calls app makes is super easy!

If we all withdraw our labor at once, the madness will end quickly. We need a lot of organizing wherewithal, but there is a website at generalstrikeus.com set up to encourage this. Post this in your local subreddits, everyone!

Not just for PA!

From AOC on Bluesky: "Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave [to Republicans]. Tell them:

  1. Vote NO on Cloture AND
  2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it. TODAY is the showdown. 🤳🏽: (202) 224-3121"

EDIT - if you are not getting an answer or voicemail, try calling a different office location. Y'all rock!

Representative Jamie Raskin is encouraging all U.S. citizens to join him this week in filing formal demands for access to their personal data obtained by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Elon Musk.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has issued an injunction commanding DOGE to comply with citizen requests under the Freedom of Information Act. This law encompasses the Federal Privacy Act of 1974, which entitles any citizen to access personal information held in any U.S. government records system.

https://jamieraskin.com/doge-privacy-act-requests/

Please spread the word so we can inundate DOGE with requests for our personal data.

Edited to add a direct link to the form letter: https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/ak-raskin/images/Raskin/_DOGE/_Privacy/_Request.pdf

This post was removed from r/GenZ so I am reposting here.

I am a boomer appealing to Generation Z.  I am 71 years old, a US army veteran and former paratrooper, born in Atlanta Georgia and now living in Italy (Married to an Italian). What I see happening in my home country is beyond the pale alarming.

Last year, America was at a crossroads: A path towards Love and Empathy and a movement toward a better world for most or a path towards Anger and Hatred and a world full of divisiveness, suffering and misery for most, to the benefit of the rich and the powerful few.

For whatever reason, the turn was taken towards Anger and Hatred to divide our great nation to the benefit of the wealthy.  Some of you will have been negatively impacted by the actions Trump has taken and are suffering.  Others may feel a sense of despair about the future. Do not despair. You can take your country back and put it on the right path - the right side of a history that resembles the present day.

If you are like me and appalled by the actions being taken by the POTUS, DJT, it is your duty as an American to take action and protest, protest, protest.  Protest like your future depends on it. Your generation has much to lose if Project 2025 is successful.  Protest peacefully but make your voices heard.  America belongs to the people. You must protest loudly to keep it that way and to make America good again.  The path DJT is on, strips America of its values and its principles and is crumbling its democracy. "Reject the Lies, Repeal the Policies, Reclaim your Future!"  It is the American way.

If you live in a red state, the value of your protest is even greater.  Protests in mass will force your representatives to develop the backbone to say "enough is enough" and stand up and reject DJT.

Mass protests can take many forms, including:

Marches: Large groups of people walking together along a set route.

Rallies: Gatherings where participants listen to speeches, chants, and other expressions of solidarity.

Sit-ins: Occupying a specific location, often to disrupt business as usual and draw attention to the cause.

Strikes: Workers collectively refuse to work, advocating for better conditions or opposing certain policies.

Vigils: Peaceful gatherings, often held in the evening, to honor individuals or raise awareness about a cause.

These demonstrations can be powerful tools for social and political change, showcasing the unity and determination of those involved.

Sending you all love and light from Sunny Italy.

I’m watching from Germany, often close to tears. You are doing great, hold on. I’ve noticed that people question if it makes sense to be in the streets each week or to better organise one big event. I remember the following, I saw it happen: There is a historic example from 1989 that regularly rallies works! It brought the Berlin wall and the authoritarian regime of the German Democratic Republic down: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday_demonstrations_in_East_Germany. What the English article doesn’t mention is the amplification from 1200 people on the 4th of September 1989 to more than 100 000 on the 20th of November only in one City (Leipzig) the same year. And though the eastern part of Germany is now the base of ones endorsed by Leon, that year they brought the people of power down. You can admit that the GDR was already weakened. But in the land of the free the structures haven’t fully settled yet. People then gathered peacefully in the streets, week by week chanting: “We are the people”, talking to each other, discussing, building ties. And this happened without social media. They spread the word and knew they would come back the same day, same time the next week. Please hold on, amplify and don’t give up!

Given that the continuing resolution was only passed due to promises made to fiscal hawks that impoundment would continue, all Senators fitting the above description need to be persuaded not to vote for it. Candidates are to be found here:

Between Tesla shares falling 30% in one month, losing billions due to alienating Carlos Slim, saying he is afraid for his safety, and almost crying mid-interview over his companies imploding, it’s clear that the pushback is taking a heavy toll on Elon.

Judging by Trump’s need to promote Tesla and tell his cabinet that “they control their agencies, not Elon Musk,” the latter is clearly seen as a weak link by the current administration, and is most likely costing them countless supporters due to the mass layoffs.

This is absolutely crucial! Musk is currently the biggest threat to democracy, not Trump. Trump is an idiot who failed to steal the 2020 election. Musk has access to sensitive systems, including, in Trump’s own words, “those vote counting computers.” We need to capitalize on the public discontent and drive a wedge between him and the current administration. If we manage to have him fired before mid-terms, we have big hopes. Else, there’s no guaranteeing anything, including that the next election won’t be stolen.

There are several ways to achieve our goal:

  • Make the message clear. Protest signs and slogans asking to uphold democracy fall on deaf ears because they seem vague, preachy, and infantile. Protest signs and slogans demanding this man be fired and his cabal dismantled are clear and forceful. Hell, we could even put a DOGE spin on it. “Want to remove waste? REMOVE ELON MUSK!”
  • Delete Twitter. I understand some of us want to break the echo chamber, but that website is a lost cause. The lower the number of users, the less powerful he feels, the less advertisers care about him.
  • Keep things constant. Don’t protest or boycott for a day and then stop. Keep up the pressure, escalate it. That’s how their attention is grabbed.
  • Keep things peaceful. Yes, it sounds lame, but what we need right now is absolutely not for Elon to “get Luigi’d.” Something like that would only grant him martyrdom in the eyes of MAGA and give Trump the opportunity to crack down on freedoms through the pretext of “security.” Don’t attack; let him fail on his own, and pressure his collaborators to estrange him.

I know there is a lot going on right now. But we need to put the pressure on and tell our Senators to vote no on the CR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIqJM7IvqWU

This is big folks. Sam didn't pull back on the urgency.

***Edit

Here is the number for the senate switch-board: (202) 224-3121

Use it. Call your Senators. Don't care if they're Republican or Democrat. Tell them to vote No. Probably needs to be especially emphasized for the Dems, per what Sam says. But we really need to mobilize and vocalize on this one.
