Every time I am in SF, I make a point of going down to the docks and getting a sourdough chowder bowl.
They're the absolute best thing in the city, IMO, and fits your desire to try the seafood.
Relaxed section for discussion and debate that doesn't fit anywhere else. Whether it's advice, how your week is going, a link that's at the back of your mind, or something like that, it can likely go here.

We’re staying really near Pier 41 and we’re planning to head down to the docks there and try this! I can’t wait
Henry’s Hunan on Natoma St. is quite good.
In bakeries I would suggest - Pineapple King Bakery (hong kong style bakery) and Arsicault (usually a 30m wait on the weekends, but worth it for the kouign aman and croissants)
Pineapple king looks amazing, I guess it’s mainly sweet bits? Is there good public transport around as we’re staying quite far away
Yes, there’s a muni light rail station about a block away - Judah St & 19th Ave
I usually get their original pineapple puff and iced tea. It’s very close to the Golden Gate Park. If it’s a sunny day you can find a nice spot in the park.
If you can do spicy, one of my favorite local joints is Mama Ji's in the Castro. It's Szechuan and one of their star dishes is fried fish with Szechuan peppercorns (the numbing kind). Good beer list as well.
La taqueria, dorado style burrito is pretty bomb. Saigon sandwich for the best sandwich (though the neighborhood and the surrounding area is pretty rough)
